Event updates to end 2023

I’ve just paid the fee for my final event for 2023. I’ll be attending the Mayhem Collectibles Fair (along with many fellow local authors and artists) in December.

Here is the list of events to round out the year (one a month!):

17-18th September – Adelaide Steampunk Aetherfest – event has been cancelled.
17-18th September – –Official book launch of Blood Ties will now be online –
The launch of Blood Ties was originally organised for this year’s Adelaide Steampunk Aetherfest event. Unfortunately the event was cancelled, so I’ve organised an online book launch.
Same day: Adelaide on 17th September, starting midday (Adelaide/ACST) Watchable via my youTube channel and Facebook.
If I can wrangle the tech, I may send out invites to join me on a live zoom. Details will be posted on my blog and on the event pages above.
‘Blood Ties’ follows on from the original ‘Doctor Jack’ novella in the first book of ‘The Adventures of Viola Stewart’ series.
2nd October – Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair – St Clair Recreation Centre, Woodville. I’ll be there with my books (including my new ones!)
4-5th November, 2023 Adelaide Supanova. Wayville Showgrounds – I’m all booked for Artists Alley next year.
3rd December – Mayhem Collectibles Fair – St Clair Recreation Centre, Woodville. I’m booked. See you there.

It’s just under a month until my next event – Adelaide Comic & Toy Fair at St Clair Recreation Centre, Woodville – Monday (public holiday) 2nd October.

I’ll have paperback copies of Cogs and Conspiracies and my latest release, Blood Ties (follows on from Doctor Jack). Just look for the purple tablecloth and banner!

Liptember – raising awareness for Mental Health

September is Liptember!

Liptember started in 2010 to raise awareness for women’s mental health issues. While mental health impacts all genders, it’s important to acknowledge the different life experiences, triggers and issues -such as postnatal depression and menopause. Women experience PTSD at a higher rate than men. And 1 in 3 will experience anxiety. (Beyond Blue has more information on stats).

As many of my readers know, I experience anxiety and have been diagnosed with PTSD (and more recently fibromyalgia). This month I’m wearing Liptember lippy in support of my fellows with anxiety and PTSD, and those with other mental health issues.

I’m hoping to raise at least $300 this month. Help me support research, programs and services to help woman around Australia, whe breaking down stigma attached to mental health. Beneficiaries include The Royal Women’s Hospital, Lifeline, BATYR, R U OK? and others.

Blood Ties is the first story published in the new series ‘The James Findlay Journals‘ by Karen J Carlisle. The story continues James Findlay’s (aka Jack’s) story after the events in the original story ‘Doctor Jack‘ (first book in ‘The Viola Stewart Adventures‘).
