Day 19: It’s been a hectic week.
Emergency brick demolition, to make way for unexpected part of the build, and several other real life happenings resulted in some heart hiccups, fibroflare pain, an anxiety attack, and a monster migraine now lingering around the edges. All making it difficult to word.
On top of it all, I’ve been trying to prep for an event this weekend. I was supposed to share with author (and friend) SM Kemmett, but she’s currently in hospital, so that won’t happen. So, I’ve spent the week doing arty stuff, catching up on website updates, and supervise packing for the weekend.
I did manage some ‘housekeeping’ for the writing on the 15th.
- Total words this scene after major cull (and waiting for next rewrite): 2788
- Total story at rewrite 6, so far: 8286
I’m very happy with that, as the story was originally going to be a short 2000 words (There was no way that would achieve what I wanted to with this story).
I’ve got about 1/3 to 1/2 to go; I have a bare bones plan, but am pantsing it through, and running with some of the changes that pop up. My subconscience makes connections and new words and past ones. I’ve gone back and added notes to add ‘guns in rooms’ and various points in my final drafts once I get to the end.
I decided on this method, as I’m building various character relationships in this story, which will bridge already published books. I’ve already warned top tier patrons that their ‘short story’ reward of excerpts on-the-go, will not be the final edit.
