I’m a proud member of two local groups here in Adelaide: Steampunk South Australia and Cosplay for a Cause Adelaide. Recently both groups joined forces for the second annual Steampunk Pirate Charity Ball. The ball was, not surprisingly, well-attended. I mean: steampunk and pirates. What’s not to love?
We had games and a charity auction. I donated my second book to this year’s charity auction – and someone bought it for $50! Not only that, he offered to buy my first book for another $50. All for the cause. (squee!). Thanks Rob!
(Yes, that’s a lot of exclaimation marks. But I’m stoked!)
Last year the Steampunk Pirate Ball raised over $2000 for charity. This year we managed over $3000 for the Cancer Council. Check out their webpage here.
Here are some of the amazing and creative costumes from the night.
