Due to website issues, most of my book updates have been on my Patreon page.
Here’s the latest (and good news):
The manuscript is finished, with five rounds of rewrites, and is now back from my alpha reader. There was only a few minor fixes. It’s now off to my editor. Now it’s a waiting game. I’m expecting at least one more round of rewrites after that (there always is), then it’s time for formatting and the dreaded IT stuff.
Final numbers:
- Chapters: 13
- Words: just under 40K
- Likely page count: 160-200 (depending on formatting)
- Original Internal art: 3 (paperback only)
- Recipe – written out and test (paperback only)
- Rewritten manuscript is off to alpha reader. I’ll likely have to do at least one more rewrite after that, then it’s off to the editor.
- Current expected release date is late February, 2025.

Title and blurb
I’ve also finalised the subtitle: Twixtmas: An Aunt Enid Christmas Story (of sorts). Just need to tweak it on the ISBN register page (Thorpe-Bowker) and make sure it’s up to date for other places it’s been registered. I’ve also updated the cover with the new subtitle.
And a small tweak to the back page blurb. How does this sound?

This week, I pre-registered Twixtmas for the Australia National Libraries system. It should be up on Trove in the next few days. This also makes it easier for our wonderful librarians to find all the info they need on the book.
