The State of Things – and post con report

Last weekend was the first Supanova since Covid – and one of Adelaide’s biggest thunderstorms (it reminded me of Queensland weather). Not only did we lose power for an hour and a half, but the poor artist next to me copped some drips from a leaking roof (which was sorted by day 2).

I managed to clear all my remaining stocks of the first edition of Eye of the Beholder! Now I can work on edition 2, with the new shiny cover to match books 1 and 2, after I’ve fixed a few typos found in edition 1.
This month’s Patreon Behind the Scenes will get first look at book 2’s new cover, as will newsletter subscribers. I’ll be teasing the new cover reveal later this month.
Watch this space for the upcoming cover reveal!
I’ve directed Ingram Spark to remove the old cover editions from sale. New cover editions will be officially released as follows:
  • 1st Dec, 2022: Doctor Jack andThe Illusioneer
  • 1st Jan, 2023: Eye of the Beholder.
The later release of Eye of the Beholder was to allow for selling my remaining stock. (I didn’t expect to sell out of it at Supanova – so, squee!) Unfortunatley, I can’t change its release date to 1st Dec (as it’s less than 30 days away – and that screws things up in Bookshop/distribution land).

Other convention news:

I’ve posted the con/event video (with a few behind the scenes bits). You can check it out HERE.

Monday (just after Supanova) I got a notice that one of my fellow authors (from Victoria) has Covid, making me a close contact.
I have a sniffle, itchy skin (not a symptom), and ache all over. Could be fibro flair (neurologist has diagnosed fibromyalgia… finally, a name to all my pains), bog-standard post-con lurgie, or…
First post-con RAT test was negative. (phew)
But I’m stuck at home this week, feeling flat, with multiple RAT tests in my future. Cancelling my acupunture (for fibro pain) was the worst. argh.
This month’s Behind the Scenes video will be coming to eligible patrons soon with a sneak peek of the Eye of the Beholder edition 2 cover reveal.

Patron’s received a sneak peek of this post.
